Do you pursue happiness?

The difference between Joy and Happiness?

1. Happiness depends on circumstances
Joy defies circumstances

2. Happiness driven by external power
Joy driven by internal power

3. Happiness cannot coexist w/ adversity
Joy can co-exist w/ doubt, ambiguity, and pain

4. Happiness is variable/temporal
Joy is constant/eternal

5. Happiness is event oriented
Joy is process oriented

6. Happiness is based on possessions
Joy is based on our identity

7. Happiness is inevitable
Joy is optional

So I ask you now, do you want to pursue happiness or want to be joyful?

The believer's joy is Christ joy. John 5:11

It's been a good week

I am officially 22 years old. wow, I'm excited.

Yesterday and the days before: Thank-you everyone who participated in my b-day celebrations! Jeremy Camp concert, club in San Diego, Mimi's cafe, McDonald (not in that order). And Thank-you for the phone calls and text messages to the people who didn't get to join my b-day celebration. Thanks guys!!!! It was loads of fun that was truly unforgettable.

hmmm... most memorable moment....was definitely the TECHNO show at the club. Neat lights w/ the most awesome DJ I have seen. Losing Elizabeth. Oh and having our private DJ at the end of the night dancing along w/ Red Hot Chili Peppers, Californication. ohhh and at Mimi's having all the girls ordering off the kids menu and not getting our mud pies since we’re not 12 and under. And I can't forget the awesome worship music from Jeremy Camp. Yeah..It’s been fun =)

Today: I just got back hanging with 2 of my oldest and dearest friends from San Jose! We had fun exploring new places at Dana Point and Newport Beach.

So I totally got lost on the way home from Newport Beach and ended up taking the 405 s to the 5 s to the 78e to the 15n. The longest route of all routes. I recommend everyone not to buy the Sony GPS system. It sucks, it gets you lost all the time (speaking from previous experiences). I miss the Magellan GPS (one we use to have) :(

Till next time, God Bless, kC

Updates of my life

Update 1: Life has been busy, but not too busy to write in this blog. So I have a 1 part time job and 1 per diem job (1 shift every 2 weeks). So I am pretty happy. I have a weight lifted off my shoulder since now I can kinda afford to pay back my loans starting next month. SO YeA!

Update 2: I think I am getting sick, I've been getting random runny noses and random sore throats. It's disgusting and I think I might know who the culprit responsible for this is.

Update 3: My bro found a neat site so I am able to download myspace songs easily. So now I have music at my disposal. I am so stoked, I think I already download close to 40 songs. That's not really an update but I am pretty excited about that.

Upcoming events this week in my life:
1. This sunday my sister Sabrina has a dance performance where she is performing a sweet hip hop # for Icon at active.
2. Sandbox (cover band) is coming back this wed&Thurs. They play at the Pechanga's cabaret (Free Live Music). I am excited!!
3. On Friday I am Watching Twilight!! comes out this day! watch the Twilight spoof (it's hilarious) at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dompotjTeIA
4. 22nd (Saturday). Is my friend Nat's b-day celebration and before that I'm going to a sweeet skate demo next to the mall.

SO I am excited for this upcoming week and probably gonna have more FUN between those events.

This week's goal is to practice the fruits of the spirit
Galatians 5: 22-23

love
joy
peace
longsuffering
kindness
goodness
faithfulness
gentleness
self-control

YES on Prop 8

I'm voting YES ON 8, are you?

Reason why to vote YES on Prop 8:
1. Marriage was predetermined before the beginning of time as man and women. Genesis 1:27-28, Genesis 2: 22-24
2. What is the real issue of prop 8, it's not equality! It's tax breaks yeah that's right. They are already are recognized through domestic partnerships. The tax breaks are given to people who are married because they can reproduce. If you adopt YOU still get automatic tax breaks for the people who cannot reproduce. Just read the proposition, it's right there.
3. Think about the children and how confused they are going to be growing up in a culture where any type of marriage is acceptable
4. There are more reasons but I have to go to sleep I have to wake up earlllyyyy

On a side note....I'm fired up from the protesting tonight on Rancho CA road. It was so funny cuz the No on 8 had more people and they were like we have more people on our side and I was but you cannot multiply! If u don't get I'm sorry but it was funny. There were tons of cops and knifes and punching and honking and signs. Very Scary, but I didn't get hurt, yay!

It's November!

Wow, the year has gone by so fast. That sounds so cliche.

I like to let everyone know that I have been embarking on a challenge. My challenge to read a whole book (that I have no purchased) at Barnes and Noble. Now this isn't an easy challenge because the book that I am reading is over 600 pages.

ECLIPSE.. the third book in the Twilight series.

I have been making good progress lately, I'm on ch.15 a little over 200 pages. Almost there...NOT! Yeah the only reason I am doing this is cuz I can't afford to buy it and really want to read it. My older sister Alicia was fortunate enough to buy us (sisters) the 4th and last book. So I don't need to worry about reading that book in the store. Thank goodness.

OKAY that's all I wanted to say. Except listen Meiko's music on myspace it's beautiful!! Under my bed is becoming 1 of my favorite songs. Listen to boys with girlfriends as well. Both these songs are found on my myspace music player.

Adventure in Hollywood

Tuesday October 21... The events that happened on this day is going to be explained in this blog.

THE NIGHT BEFORE:

Mom: So you’re going to dancing with the stars..
Me: What should I wear? *bright idea* let’s look in Sabrina's closet
Mom: You HAVE to WEAR a Dress!!
Me: Nooo, Laura isn't, black pants will be fine with a cute Shirt

Later on that night...

Me: Laura my mom said we have to wear dresses
Laura: I don't have a dress

*Laura calls up Shareen and tells her to wear a dress*

DAY OF:

Waiting an hour in line playing phase 10 we are quick to realize that Laura and I are way under dressed and Shareen of course is dressed up. When the audience coordinator checks our ticket he says we can't go in, but can maybe use us if they need more people, but we wouldn't find out for another 2 hours. We ended up leaving because parking was expensive if we stayed any longer.

We were then declared to have FUN in Hollywood since we couldn't get in. We decide to go Vintage clothes shopping for Shareen's Halloween costume. Shareen randomly picked a store from a list that are GPS was shown called Selenas Vintage clothing (something like that). It's in West Hollywood and supposedly celebrity central. We didn't run into any celebs unfortunately but the vintage shop we happened to actually go into is celebrity’s favorite vintage store. The owner’s husband was telling us how Paris Hilton, The Kardashian, Lindsey Lohan, Renee Zilwinger are all regular shoppers there and other A list celebrities and their stylists. Just the day before Bruce Willis stylist came inside. He told us about the thick black AMEX cards, who nice celebs were, how some were celebs were price conscious, and how they get their hair done next door. We didn't buy anything there since the non designer dresses were 200-300 dollars and designer dresses were at least 600. Expensive but Pretty.

Anyways he actually recommend some great vintage shops on Melrose that were closer to our price range which were called American vintage, Slow, AA Arvanick. All pretty Neat and wished I had some spare cash to spend.

We then made our way too walk of fame. Then behold we were invited to be in the studio audience of the Jimmy Kimmel Show. The guest star was Toni Braxton because she was eliminated from dancing with the stars and 2 live performances from Jess Mccartney. Woo Hoo!

On our way back to the car we ran into Jack Sparrow. He told us we needed to take a picture with him and I told him we didn’t NEED anything since it wasn’t a necessity and then he said he needed our money. Then he tried to get my phone number, eww!

Then we were on our way home around 9 or 10pm and stopped at Natalie’s house in Corona. Before I knew it I was on my way to CBU to surprise Angel to watch her volleyball game. It was quite fun since there team name was Red Hot Chili Peppers and we were screaming remarks like become 1 pepper, and make some salsa. They won, Angel did great!

We ended up going back to Nat's house and staying till like 2 am playing truth or dare....more like truth and had some ice-cream sandwiches.

And that concludes my adventure in Hollywood, Yay for not getting lost!

Woot

Guess what everyone?

I have a bookshelf! I've always wanted one and now I have one, YAY!

In other news: I'm getting a car soon, very soon. Like this Wednesday soon. My dad is going to fix the alignment in TJ on Wednesday. Its a baby blue, 4 door Saturn, 2002 I think. I hope it has power windows. I've also always wanted power windows in my car. That's like the greatest invention next to the microwave. Anyways, I'll take a picture of my car when I get and post it. Cuz pictures speak louder then words.

In other other news: I have an interview tomorrow, so pray for me!! If this isnt the job then hopefully it will be the next next interview.

Love you all, God Bless,
Kristal

Conviction

1 John 2:15

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

What do you spend your time doing? Where are your priorities? What music is on your i pod play list?

Live it

We are not given 2nd chances, we only have one life to live.

Just think about that for a minute.

It's a scary thought thinking about the minutes we wasted doing stuff that will not matter after death has taken place. Like watching marathons on TV of your favorite show, or browsing people's profiles on myspace. How productive right?

I read in a book that quoted this saying "never say 'no' to adventures always say 'yes' otherwise you'll lead a very dull life."

I agree but also disagree.

It's not all about saying yes to adventures that is not what life is about. It's about glorifying God!

Do you want to grow to old age and say "I wasted it" and think I should have said yes to more adventures OR say I did not spend my time according to God's will.

Personally I would not even want to say that I wasted my life.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life ."

If you live according to God's will then you will have everlasting life.

Think before doing. You only have one life, don't waste it!
